Isela;'s loom knitting group is closing

Unfortunately, for different reasons Isela's loom knitting group which I happened to be the moderator along with Jenny Stark for the last four years is closing on July 31st, 2011 and I feel really bad for it. Feel kind of empty, but I thank Isela for the opportunity she gave me to help her and the experience I got to take care of a group.

It is with great sadness that I communicate this.

Will I continue to loom knit? yes, of course, I love this craft and will continue to do it. And besides I have my other group called Tejiendo en Telares which is in Spanish.

There were some ladies on the group who insisted on Isela  not closing the group and just pass it to some other person to lead it and here is what I answered:

My opinion is that what brings the group together is that we are following ISELA because she has given us so much by teaching loom knitting through her videos, books, patterns, and articles, that when she is gone there would not be a strong reason to stay around. I am sure it is not easy for her to close the group, but the cycle has to come to an end, let us just grieve and mourn, and respect her decision. There are plenty of loom knitting groups to join, where we can find also great loom knitters as our Loom Lady Brenda Myers, Helen in UK, Jennifer Stark, Graciela Worth, Bethany Dailey, Rennee Van Hoy, Jeannette Pirkle and so many others.

Of course we can still follow Isela in her facebook page or in her blog and we will also get to know her more of her family life. The loom knitting facebook page will also be there so we can show pictures of our loom knitting projects. Her books, videos and articles will be kept in the magic of the internet doing history.

So we can just feel proud of being part of Isela's group and keeping her in our minds and our hearts. I myself can feel proud of being able these last five years, to help her along with our Jenny Stark as Moderator of the group and having her friendship and Jenny's. Thank you so much Isela and Jenny.

Hugs to you all, and I am sure I will see you around the loom knitting world.
