Flower Cowl

This loomknitted cowl was published on the Loom Knitters Circle Magazine on 2007. A Wonder loom from the old DecorAccents Looms was used on the sample on small gauge and I loved it. You can find the pattern HERE

A NEW SCARF ON THE LOOPA LOOM-NUEVA BUFANDA EN EL TELAR LOOPA

This scarf with my favorite colors was made on one afternoon the loopa loom. I braided the ends with a fingerchain and it had a nice result.

Fingerless Gloves with Beads - Guantes con piedritas

I loomknitted these fingerless gloves with beads on the 21 pegs circular Cindiloom 1/2 gauge and Simply Soft Caron. I did not have to add the beads to the yarn before starting it, but used a crochet hook to place the beads wherever I needed.

Finished them with picot crochet on the cuff and the thumb hole.

So fast and pretty to make.  I will post a tutorial soon.

Isela;'s loom knitting group is closing

Unfortunately, for different reasons Isela's loom knitting group which I happened to be the moderator along with Jenny Stark for the last four years is closing on July 31st, 2011 and I feel really bad for it. Feel kind of empty, but I thank Isela for the opportunity she gave me to help her and the experience I got to take care of a group.

It is with great sadness that I communicate this.

Will I continue to loom knit? yes, of course, I love this craft and will continue to do it. And besides I have my other group called Tejiendo en Telares which is in Spanish.

There were some ladies on the group who insisted on Isela  not closing the group and just pass it to some other person to lead it and here is what I answered:

From: "Mariat" View contact detailsTo: LoomKnitting@yahoogroups.com

My opinion is that what brings the group together is that we are following ISELA because she has given us so much by teaching loom knitting through her videos, books, patterns, and articles, that when she is gone there would not be a strong reason to stay around. I am sure it is not easy for her to close the group, but the cycle has to come to an end, let us just grieve and mourn, and respect her decision. There are plenty of loom knitting groups to join, where we can find also great loom knitters as our Loom Lady Brenda Myers, Helen in UK, Jennifer Stark, Graciela Worth, Bethany Dailey, Rennee Van Hoy, Jeannette Pirkle and so many others.

Of course we can still follow Isela in her facebook page or in her blog and we will also get to know her more of her family life. The loom knitting facebook page will also be there so we can show pictures of our loom knitting projects. Her books, videos and articles will be kept in the magic of the internet doing history.

So we can just feel proud of being part of Isela's group and keeping her in our minds and our hearts. I myself can feel proud of being able these last five years, to help her along with our Jenny Stark as Moderator of the group and having her friendship and Jenny's. Thank you so much Isela and Jenny.

Hugs to you all, and I am sure I will see you around the loom knitting world.

Vertical stripes Moebius scarf on the 10 peg knitting board

This morning I had a nice surprise because one of my projects was chosen to be in the home page picture of one of my looming groups, the KKLK and it felt really good. This project is very special because it is the first time I try vertical stripes on the knitting board

When you are looming and getting to the joining point you twist them together and continue to loom each other to its side.

Baby sweater for Rafaella my grand niece

Baby sweater for Rafaella, my grand niece.

This sweater was designed specially for my daughter when she was a baby. I needle knitted it even before she was born and it was the first one I would knit. I enjoyed it so much that I kept it for when she would have a baby girl and my grandaughter Andrea did use the same one her mom used.

This baby sweater belonged to her mother as a baby.

I already made one for her but it will fit her when she will be like two years old. I just love to do this family pattern.
