FINGER KNITTED SCARF

I just made a scarf with the technique of FINGER KNITTING, that means using fingers as looms. I had real fun doing it and it was so fast to do it. There is no pattern for this I learned the technique on you tube videos.Last week I saw the site of a loom knitter in Netherlands and I took the idea for my own version. Hers is just beautiful and mine has my touch and colors. She used the blue long kk loom. Just scroll down this site and you will find the English version

COWLS

I designed these cowls. The green with pink was published in the Loom Knitters Circle . That really made me proud. I will add the pattern here later.

I loom knitted this cowl some time ago with homespun yarn and some beads. It is so soft and comfortable You can cover your head and even your mouth when it gets really cold. You can find the pattern at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/decoraccentsinc/ in the files section. In order to be able to enter there, you must apply to be a member of the group by clicking on JOIN THIS GROUP.

September Swap Scarf

These are pictures of the scarf I made for my partner Kathy Fellows in Maine. She has taste just like mine because I loved the combination of purple and green aqua. I loomed it in the Knitting board and used several stitches: e wrap, purl, dropped stitch and flat stitch.Put a slot so to close the scarf. I added the detailed of hand warmers at the end of the scarf just by folding the ends and added some Mexican ornaments. I liked it so much, that I am going to loom one for me.

Variation of the Pinwheel Baby Blanket

She enjoys her blanket and that makes me happy!!!!

This is a pattern from Denise Layman http://www.knitchat.com/2006/10/06/its-a-boy/

The variation is in the edge, instead of loom knitting a see saw edge, I crocheted with shell and drop stitch and added a ribbon.

Capelet I hand knitted for me on 2006

Being purple and lilac my favorite colors I knitted this capelet for me just following the same paths as for Gabriela's.

Fourth and final part for the two color side scarf

You will find that it has been edited because it was too long and you tube rejected.

I am glad this videos have been helpful to spread loom knitting.

Part three for the two side color scarf

The video had to be edited. You tube rejected it for being too long, so part four will be coming then.

Cheri - Belgian Shepherd

Cheri training guard and protection. This is the largest of my dogs. He is great!! and always takes care of me, but he does not attack people unless they try to hurt me.He already saved me from some burglars who attempted to take my car from me, even though I was driving it. They could not do it when they saw him inside with me.

My college at the University of Mexico and graduate school of Dentistry at the University of Michigan

I started College after divorcing, when Gabriela was eight months old and my mom would babysit for me but when she died in a car accident it was harder. My already married sister babysat for me but sometimes Gabriela would have to go with me to school, that is why she "graduated" along with me. She was dearest to my classmates and teachers .

After finishing in Mexico I went to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor to get the Master's Degree in Pedodontics (Children's Dentistry) and Gabriela went along with me also. But she attended to Lawton School while I attended my Dentistry School.Later on I will post some of our pictures.

My Office

Dishcloth on tunisian crochet

A week ago when I went to my local yarn store and a large crochet double hook got my attention and I asked the lady what was that for. So she taught me how to use it and this is the result. I loved it. Of course there are much more things to crochet other than a dishcloth.

Yarn Winding center pull without a winder

I would like to share with all a link for winding center pull yarn without a winder

http://www.ariadneknits.com/blog/?p=62_

It shows how to do it with your thumb and it is so easy, that, although I have my nice winder, I have started doing it for small balls and it works for me. Sometimes you are in a hurry, and it is fun doing it

Scarf swap

I am part of a scarf swap that is taking place between loom knitters. This is being organized by Bety Ann and I am going to loom knit a scarf for Kathy and Courtney is going to loom knit one for me. I am excited about it. I have to finish it up before September in order to send it my daughter with someone who travels to Simi Valley. I live in Mexico and cannot mail it from here because of customs, they might not let it enter and it could be lost. Then my daughter will mail it to Maine where Kathleen lives.

I already started and have nice ideas for it. Kathy likes it not too wide, 6 inches at the most. I will published it when I finish

Here is a close up of the latice eyelet stitch and also a close up of the dropped stitch in purple. The edge is crocheted, but the whole scarf was made in the green loom.

Maria's scarf

Here is the picture of a scarf I finished two weeks ago in which I practiced a new stitch from my group DAlooms and it is called l
atice eyelet stitch. I added some beads which I like very much

The new projects I have finished

I just finished a baby pinwheel baby blanket. This blanket is for a baby who is very special for me, and I will explain why. Like 20 years ago I had this cute patient(I am a Children's Dentist)
who was 10 years old and she had crooked teeth, so she was my patient and her teeth were straight after we finished the treatment after two years, so I saw her once a month for two years and then I saw her last month and she was very happy for her pregnancy. When she was in labor she had preeclampsia and she died. Her child is alive a baby boy but he has no mother, so I was in shock and I thought by loomknitting something nice from my soul to her little boy, this was the best way to remember her. In memory to Annia Newenhouse

The new knitting board

Much too large and uncomfortable to work with and the pins were located not really even, the afghan is coming out too large on the sides and short on the middle.

One of my yorkies was lost on August 13th, 2006 and it was so painful for me and so difficult to overcome that I am always on the hope that she will come back to me so the posters I placed all over my county are still there and a month later somebody brought to me a doggie who was found in the streets, a small yorkie that looked old and wasted, they thought it could be the one that is lost, a very small wasted little yorkie and I immediately said it was not mine, they said that if I would not want her she would go back to the streets so I decided to adopt her and she adopted me immediately and here she is. I named her Lili and she has no teeth at all so I have to water and blend her food. She had to be operated because her womb was completely infected, but now she is doing good and getting better and getting my love and the love and joy of my other doggies..
